We're All Lying

Thrillers are my genre, I read in it, I write in it, I can’t get enough of those twisty plots, unreliable narrators, murder, everyday people doing bad, bad things. And oh, the drama. I’ve had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at many of the hottest thrillers hitting shelves in 2023, and it is going to be a great year for all those thriller readers out there. Get ready for your jaw to hit the floor, your TBR to grow (more than it already has), and to lose many hours of sleep because these page-turners are sure to keep you up way past your bedtime for just one more chapter…or maybe ten. Here are some of my top picks.

The Villa Rachel Hawkins

Two best friends spend the summer in an Italian villa to re-connect, write, and take a break. The novel interweaves a story from previous villa tenants, a book connecting the past and present. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, the last bit had my jaw on the floor.

I Love It When You Lie Kristen Bird

Release Date: March 14, 2023

I Love It When You Lie is a thriller with heart. I felt so emotionally connected to this story about sisters reuniting for their grandmother’s funeral. Each sister felt so realistic and unique, their personalities jumped off the pages. Bird’s writing is engaging and drew me in immediately, I can’t wait until March when I can make all my friends read this!

All The Dangerous Things Stacy Willingham

From page one the writing drew me into this intense page-turner about a mother desperate to find her missing child. I listened to the audiobook of this one, and the narration was perfection. I enjoyed this book so much I plan on doing a re-read of the printed copy when it releases.

The Soulmate Sally Hepworth

US Release Date: April 4, 2023

After reading the opening scene of The Soulmate, I knew it was going to be one of my favorite reads. It left me so unsettled, in the best possible way. I had cliff nightmares for days! Books that stir emotions like that in me are my favorite. Whiplash-inducing twists, and a propulsive plot, this is one you don’t want to miss.

I Know What You Did Cayce Osborne

Release Date: July 18, 2023

Buried secrets always make for a juicy propulsive read, I Know What You Did is a fun twist on a classic trope. When a book brings our MC Petal’s past roaring into the spotlight, she’s forced to confront her buried secrets head on.

We’re All Lying Marie Still

Release Date: March 14, 2023

Last but not least, my debut domestic thriller We’re All Lying. Cass has curated a (mostly) perfect life for herself, successful ad agency owner, two kids, and a doting husband. That all comes crashing down when she receives an email from her husband’s mistress. Things go from bad to worse when the mistress starts stalking her, then disappears.
