SINS OF THE FATHER

by Sheryl Browne

A roller-coaster of a read which you won’t want to put down! Former Police DCI Stuart Gibbon

What if you’d been accused of one of the worst crimes imaginable?

Detective Inspector Matthew Adams is slowly picking up the pieces from a case that nearly cost him the lives of his entire family and his own sanity too. On the surface, he seems to be moving on, but he drinks to forget and when he closes his eyes, the nightmares still come.
But the past is the past or is it? Because the evil Patrick Sullivan might be out of the picture, but there’s somebody who is just as intent on making Matthew’s life hell, and they’re doing it in the cruelest way possible.

When Matthew finds himself accused of a horrific and violent crime, will his family stand by him? And will he even be around to help when his new enemy goes after them as well?

DI Matthew Adams Book 2

The good looking and popular Detective Inspector Matthew Adams has a nice wife, a caring foster daughter and a young child. Life might have been sweet were it not for Patrick Sullivan; drug dealer, pimp, kidnapper, killer, at whose hands Matthew had endured a horrendous time in Death Sentence. It’s no wonder poor Matthew has had his problems with drink following the death of one child, after a hit and run, and then the tortuous kidnapping of his family.

The evil Sullivan may no longer be on the scene but, in Sins of the Father, poor Matthew’s life is about to be thrust into another nightmare he doesn’t see coming. Attacked and drugged Matthew is left in a compromising position but he doesn’t know the half of it. A woman with a vendetta is one thing but Matthew is soon under scrutiny from his own police colleagues after this set up proves even more sinister than it first appears. Alongside his own personal hell a young girl has been murdered, the MO being familiar to Matthew and his team, but he has it all on to save himself.

Sins of the Father examines the roles of trust and loyalty when a family comes under extreme pressure. There are plenty of twists and you can’t help rooting for the likable Matthew Adams. Sheryl Browne writes punchy revenge thrillers with family at their heart, and she writes them well. The chapters focus on different characters, cleverly showing how others’ opinions can be way off the truth.
